At the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ) in Hamburg, Cristie is implementing an exabyte archive for researchers.
2019
Grau Data and Cristie Data enter into a strategic development partnership. Cristie will be responsible for the distribution of Grau solutions as Part of the Cristie.Partners division.
2018
A close partnership with StrongBox Data Solution Inc. creates the Cristie Cognitive Data Management solution – CCM. Cristie Data establishes the Cristie.Partners division.
2017
The Cristie Project Archive and Cristie Project Archive as a Service (CPA) are launching in Germany. CPA is the solution for project-based long-term file storage.
2016
The company is renamed from Cristie Data Products GmbH to Cristie Data GmbH. The new name reflects the company's broad range of solutions and services. The Cristie Media Warehouse (CMW) service is founded in Germany. A professional service for the safekeeping and long-term storage of media.
2015
Cristie Backup Solution – CBS – is launching on the German market. The service is a combination of an IBM Spectrum licensing model, Cristie TBMR, and other applications and services.
2014
Cristie Bare Machine Recovery for Commvault Simpana – SBMR launches. Cristie responds to a recurring request for Commvault support.
2013
Cristie exceeds 150,000 installations of Cristie disaster recovery solutions. Avamar Bare Machine Recovery – ABMR, the disaster recovery solution for EMC Avamar, is released. Cristie Clone Manager and Recovery Simulator are released in the same year.
2008
Cristie Bare Machine Recovery for IBM Tivoli – TBMR is displayed. It is the logical further development of the Cristie disaster recovery solution. The recovery media is converted from Linux to Windows PE. Various TSM backup clients are now available on the media.
2007
Cristie Bare Machine Recovery for EMC NetWorker – NBMR for Windows is released. The solution is integrated directly into EMC NetWorker as a plug-in. NBMR for Linux will be released shortly after the Windows version.
2005
There are now more than 50.000 Cristie installations worldwide with disaster recovery solutions on a wide variety of systems.
2004
CBMR for Linux is released. The solution has the same feature set as CBMR for Windows.
2003
Cristie Bare Machine Recovery – CBMR for Windows is released. The first solution capable of recovering systems on dissimilar hardware. The solution is also distributed by IBM. It integrates seamlessly with IBM Tivoli Storage Manager. Cristie is the first company to offer software capable of performing a complete, automated recovery on dissimilar hardware.
2002
The first Cristie storage arrays are sold in Germany under the name “Cristie Gigastream”.
2001
StorTrec was founded.
2000
Cristie Electronics GmbH is renamed Cristie Data Products GmbH. The company's activities and business areas are clearly reflected in the new name. The PC-Bax solution for Windows will be launched later this year.
1999
The first Cristie office in southern Germany opens in Großwallstadt.
1994
Founding of Cristie Electronics GmbH in Düsseldorf at Königsallee 1.
1990
The company begins to focus on data security solutions for companies. Further development of the SDB software for OS/2. The PC-BAX software for data backup and automatic recovery of OS/2 systems is redeveloped. The company begins developing and marketing its own tape streamers and autoloaders.
1980
Cristie's entry into the professional IT sector began with the self-developed backup software SDB for DOS and Novell Netware.
1970
Start of development and sales of data logger systems for the maritime industry.
1969
Cristie Electronics Ltd was founded in Stroud, England. The company is named after the wife of the company founder, "Cristie." Among other things, Cristie Electronics worked on the control of unmanned aerial vehicles.
